Future Innovators Take Center Stage at Mekathlon 2024 Grand Finale in Bangalore

● The Grand Finale featured high-stakes competitions, hands-on STEM engagements, and a celebration of young talent.
● A total of 38 teams from Robotics and Science have won at Mekathlon Grand Finale 2024.

Bengaluru, November 28, 2024: Mekathlon 2024 culminated in an exciting Grand Finale in Bangalore, where more than 1000 talented students and close to 200 teams, aged 8 to 18, gathered to showcase their innovative projects in Robotics and Sustainable Development. Building on the success of previous editions held in Bangalore, Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, and Chennai, the event highlighted the creativity and ingenuity of the next generation of innovators. The event was graced by Abhimanyu Saxena Co-Founder of Scaler on Day 1 and Dr. Chandrashekhar M Biradar, Lead Global Green Growth Transition & Principal Scientist-Functional Agroecosystems CIFOR-ICRAF Asia Continental Program for Day 2 of Mekathlon.
The Grand Finale included competitions such as the EcoInnova Science Exhibition, Brainiac Battle Quiz, and advanced Robotics challenges including Racer Robo, Fastest Line Follower, and Line follower with Obstacle Avoider. These segments fostered not only technical skills but also critical life skills, empowering students to address real-world challenges through STEM.
In a fitting conclusion, students from Sri Lanka participated, showcasing a remarkable diversity of ideas and solutions. The winners of Mekathlon 2024 demonstrated exceptional creativity and technical skill, with projects ranging from eco-friendly robotics to innovative renewable energy solutions. A total of 38 teams from Robotics and Science have won at Mekathlon Grand Finale 2024.

Government of Karnataka hosts SME Connect interactive session in association with Flipkart, Federal Bank, and FICCI

Belagavi, 27th November – Reinforcing its commitment to fostering technology-driven growth and industrial innovation, the Government of Karnataka organized a specialized *SME Connect interactive session* in association with Flipkart, Federal Bank, and FICCI. This initiative is part of the state’s comprehensive preparations for the upcoming Global Investors Meet, Invest Karnataka 2025, aimed at shaping a competitive and digitally advanced industrial ecosystem across Karnataka.

The interactive session featured insightful sessions led by Mr. Nilesh Kumar, Associate Director Corporate affairs from Flipkart, Mr Sanjo Joseph, Regional Head, Federal Bank and representatives FICCI, focusing on equipping SMEs with critical knowledge and tools to excel in a rapidly evolving business environment. Sessions emphasized adopting the latest technologies to achieve Industry 4.0 standards, strategies to boost exports and establish SMEs as global suppliers, efficient use of e-commerce platforms, access to tailored financial solutions, and leveraging government portals to connect with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and buyers across sectors. Participants were also encouraged to harness networking opportunities through FICCI to enhance business prospects.

The SME Connect program is designed to connect SMEs globally, nationally, and locally with buyers and OEMs via the newly developed SME Connect portal by the Invest Karnataka Forum. It addresses the challenges micro and small enterprises face in marketing their products and finding the right customers.

In addition to providing insights into exports, finance, e-commerce, and business continuity, the interactive session offered MSME entrepreneurs a comprehensive refresher on navigating today’s dynamic business landscape. Entrepreneurs engaged with seasoned experts to broaden their knowledge and skills in critical business areas, preparing them to adapt, innovate, and thrive in competitive markets.

We have been organising The Parikrma Champions League (12th year) for years, breaking stereotypes and creating a level playing field for children from various backgrounds to celebrate football together. What started as a school football tournament is now recognised by the Karnataka State Football Association and All India Football Federation as one of the best Under-16 football tournaments in the country. Sixteen teams from all over India will battle it for the Equality Cup™.

Every year, PCL is conducted at one of the best stadiums, with the best facilities, such as artificial turf, a players’ tunnel and an electronic scoreboard. The tournament always attracts star players and corporate leaders as guests. The players are provided with proper nutrition and healthcare facilities (including an ambulance at venues on all three days).

Many years have passed, and we are proud to share with you positive transformation stories (from the recent past) that reaffirm our belief and efforts in this movement:

● Many of our alumni have registered and obtained admissions to colleges offering sports management; a few are training to be coaches.
● A few alumni have started a sports management company called Rapt Sports, and another, having received their B and C certifications, has started the Sports Academy in Bengaluru.
● Our coach, Ravi Babu, who is also the coach for the state football team last year, was the official coach when the Karnataka team won the Sathosh Trophy after 50-odd years. We had two players from our club play in that League.
● This year, one of our Parikrma Boys FC team members has been selected to play for the nationals in the Santhosh Trophy representing Karnataka.
● The Parikrma Girls Football Club has grown tremendously. We now have girls from the remotest parts of India join the Club.

What to expect at PCL 2024?
● The Coaches’ Pledge – where all participating coaches pledge fair play.
● Creating Players’ professional tunnels – Young players will feel like real professionals walking onto the field through a tunnel, being cheered on by crowds.

● Outstanding individual performances and skills awarded.
● The exhibition match is on the morning of the finals. Spotters will identify the most skilled players from 16 teams to form a Parikrma All-Star team that will take on CEOs of Bengaluru’s leading corporate companies in a 20-minute exhibition match.
● To raise the game’s level each year, the matches this year will have 20-minute halves, the Semi-Finals will be 25 minutes, and the Finals will have 30-minute halves. The Parikrma Champions League 2024 will be a ranking tournament for the top 8 teams moving into the Quarter Finals after the league stage.

Eminent athletes and sport personalities, Arjuna awarded will be gracing the occasion to inspire the children – including Reeth Abraham, Doddha Ganesh, Aaron D’Souza and Sameera D.
