NRI Dancer presents longest dance drama production on Indian Independence Struggle.

Guruji Prasanna Kasthuri, who created new record by dancing 24-hours marathon in 1986, has contributed to help build a soft power of Indian brand abroad since 1994. He has promoted India’s performing arts projects in USA, which introduced India’s heritage and culture to Westerners. He and his wife Seema Kasthuri introduced Kannadiga’s great literature wealth such as Kuvempus’ Beral ge koral, Masti avara chikka kathegalu, Pu.ti.na’s Gokula Nirgamana, ” and hundreds of compositions of Dasa and Sharana traditions to forefront. He showcased ancient dramas such as – Shoodraka’s “Mruchchakatika”, Elagovan’s “Silappadikkaram”, Aurobindo’s “Savitr” and Padmavibhushana Sriranga – “Kattale-Belaku”. Guruji was invited to perform in AKKA sammelana in 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2018.

Recently, Guruji Prasanna Kasthuri brought “Bharat Ki Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” to St. Louis, USA, and engaged thousands of Indians celebrate 75 years of India’s Independence through “SAMARPAN – Saga of Indian freedom Struggle”. He engaged hundreds of people to act, dance, sing in this Indian patriotic theatrical production in USA on August 13″ 2022 at reputed Blanchet Touhill Auditorium, St. Louis, USA. It was watched by thousands in-person and online.

“Samarpan” is an artistic rendition of the Indian freedom struggle against British colonial rule. Planning of this production took 5 years of hard work. This was conceptualized, written, and directed by American based artist – Guruji Prasanna Kasthuri, the Artistic Director of Soorya Performing Arts, in St. Louis. Missouri State, USA. This production is unique because it focuses on the reason, effects, and solution to the Colonial aggression on Indian soil. It depicts events beginning from the 16th century, marking the arrival of the East India Company, weaving its way through the resistances in North-South, East-West, every part of India, culminating with the events that led to freedom in 1947. It reminds us of the not-to-be forgotten sacrifices of the brave men and women who fought valiantly to get India out of the shackles of British rule. This 4-hour long dance-music-theatre production is a glimpse into history like never before!

This production was an eye opener for Americans with information such as 2 million (20 Lakh) Indian soldiers waged war for Great Britain in the 2nd World War, which surprised many in American Media.

Now, Guruji Prasanna Kasthuri is bringing SAMARPAN – a beautiful mega patriotic production to his hometown – Bengaluru on August 11, 12 with four consecutive shows in Chowdaiah memorial hall,

Historical events showcased in Samarpan will be depicted in six languages (Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Marathi, Tamil and Bengali) by more than 120 artists from India and USA. This mega dance drama is unique, as it uses the classical dance, music and theatre to honour India’s freedom fighters and brings awareness among youth as a continued education.

This event is co-ordinated by Shantala Arts Trust, a public charitable trust, under the guidance of veteran Guru Kalayogi Pulikeshi.

More than 10 different dance schools, theatre groups from Bengaluru are taking part. This is bringing many communities together to showcases their respect and gratitude towards the freedom fighters.

Research Grants Endowed with €240,000

DKMS supports Promising young scientists in advancing blood cancer therapy

August 3, 2023 – On August 1, 2023, the application period for the DKMS John Hansen Research Grant 2024 began. The DKMS Stiftung Leben Spenden supports up to four outstanding research projects in the field of stem cell transplantation or cell therapy each year. The grant is aimed at young scientists who have obtained a doctoral degree (PhD, MD or equivalent achievements) no more than 10 years ago. The grant amounts to €240,000 each and will be paid out over a period of three years. The application deadline is November 30, 2023.
DKMS is primarily known as the world’s largest stem cell donor center, with more than 11.5 million registered potential stem cell donors. However, the non-profit organization is also deeply involved in the medical and scientific field. “Every year, more than 1.2 million people around the world are diagnosed with blood cancer and, though a stem cell transplant can save the lives of many of them, not all patients are permanently cured afterwards,” explains Professor Dr. Marcel van den Brink, Chairman of the DKMS Medical Council. “Still, relapses and severe complications, most notably graft-versus-host disease, pose major challenges to medicine and science. We want to contribute to the continuous improvement of stem cell transplantation and other cellular therapies.” To this end, DKMS runs its own research projects and is committed to ensuring excellent research for the future. “It is a matter close to our heart and the DKMS John Hansen Research Grant enables talented young scientists to work on their promising projects for the benefit of patients worldwide.”

To date, DKMS has already given more than 105,000 blood cancer patients a second chance at life. In addition, the non-profit organization operates its own research unit in Dresden. With the DKMS Life Science Lab, it has the most powerful HLA typing laboratory in the world. DKMS research teams work on many different scientific studies around the topic of stem cell transplantation. One particularly successful example is the first DKMS clinical trial with practice-changing results. John A. Hansen – outstanding physician with a big heart
John A. Hansen, after whom the grant is named, was an outstanding oncologist and distinguished immunogeneticist at the renowned Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle. With his excellent achievements in the field of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, this dedicated and empathetic physician made a significant contribution to increasing the efficacy and safety of blood stem cell and bone marrow transplantations – and thus helped in giving countless patients a second chance at life. As a long-standing member of the board of the DKMS Stiftung Leben Spenden and a member of the DKMS Medical Council, he was deeply connected to the DKMS family.

The impact of climate change is not only limited to the environment but may have a deeper impact on the economy. The latest report of the Reserve Bank of India suggests that up to 4.5 per cent of India’s GDP could be at risk by 2030, owing to lost labour hours from extreme heat and humidity.

Animal population across the world has declined by a whopping 69% since 1970. As per a report by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) in December 2022, about 73 species of Indian fauna, including nine mammals, 18 birds, 26 reptiles, and 20 amphibians are now ‘Critically Endangered’. The number has gone up steeply from 47 in 2011.
Significant changes have been made through public-private partnerships, but the road to nature restoration and regeneration is ponderous. There is a need to rethink the strategies for large-scale and long-term conservation to reduce the negative impact. Since economies and ecosystems are co-related, it is no more of a moral case but an economic case to preserve our world.

Amit Shah launches ‘EN MANN, EN MAKKAL’ padyatra in Tamil Nadu

Union Home and Cooperation Minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Amit Shah on Friday flagged off BJP’s statewide 6-month-long ‘EN MANN, EN MAKKAL’ (My Land, My People) padayatra in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu. During the inauguration of the Padayatra, Amit Shah emphasized that this journey would liberate Tamil Nadu from nepotism and corruption while also bestowing greater recognition upon Tamil culture across the nation. He said that this is not merely a political padayatra. The padayatra, covering all 39 Lok Sabha constituencies and 234 assembly constituencies in the state, will end on January 11, 2024. While addressing the gathering, Amit Shah also lashed out at the opposition alliance.

Amit Shah’s ‘EN MANN, EN MAKKAL’ padayatra has raised the pitch for the 2024 elections. No leader in present-day Indian politics demonstrates the level of alertness and dedication to election preparation that Amit Shah does, as he works tirelessly day and night. Amit Shah, serving as BJP’s chief election strategist, has consistently steered the party to success, making it the largest political party globally. Over the past 9 years, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah’s guidance, the NDA government has prioritized performance-based politics over casteism, familyism, appeasement, and regionalism.

Today, the DMK is the most corrupt political party in the country, with its minister facing allegations of involvement in multi-crore scams and being in jail.

But he still holds the post of minister in Stalin’s government. The people of Tamil Nadu as well as the entire country want to know that why the Stalin government is not taking resignation from a minister who is in the jail? Stalin makes more than 500 promises to win the election, but after winning he does not keep even one of them. Today, the people in the country resonates with BJP’s formidable leader, Shah, often referred to as the modern-day Chanakya, who believes that regardless of the opposition alliance’s name changes, people will recall the 2G scam, the Commonwealth scam, the coal scam, Chopper Scam, Submarine Scam, and ISRO Scam whenever they seek votes from the people. The opposition parties do not want to develop India, they only want to develop their families. Sonia Gandhi wants to make her son Rahul Gandhi the Prime Minister. Stalin wants to make his son Udhayanidhi the CM. Lalu Yadav wants to make his son Tejashwi Yadav the Chief Minister. Mamata Banerjee wants her nephew Abhishek Banerjee to be the CM and Uddhav Thackeray wants his son to be the CM. These people do not want to make India strong, but want to empower their sons, daughters and nephews.

Since independence, the attitude of the Congress on issues like Article 370 and Ram Mandir has been negative. The people of Tamil Nadu can never forget that the Tamils were massacred in Sri Lanka during the Congress rule and the plight of Tamil fishermen took place during their time. But in Modi ji’s second term, on the direction of Amit Shah, Article 370 was also repealed, and the Ram Mandir issue was also resolved. The public of the country has witnessed this wave of transformation.
