Nippon Paint launches TVC with Royal Challengers Bangalore

* Unveils new TVC and a 360-degree campaign which celebrates the colourful state of Karnataka

Bengaluru, April 14th, 2022: Nippon Paint (India), Asia’s leading paint manufacturer, today released a TVC to celebrate another year of association with the Royal Challengers Bangalore. This is the second year of Nippon’s association with the celebrated team. This partnership will see Nippon Paint’s logo appear on the back of the player’s helmets and caps. The new TVC pays homage to the beautiful and colourful state of Karnataka and shows how it has inspired the colours of Nippon Paint. The TVC explores and celebrates the many facets of this state – from its rich heritage to the cultural melting pot that it is at present. The TVC features landmarks, symbols and personalities from Karnataka like Mysore Palace, Chennapatna Dolls, Hubli Light House, Vidhan Soudha, Dolukunitha musicians, Karnataka Flag and Kittur Rani Chennamma. With the tagline ‘Namma Karnataka, Namma Nippon Paint’, the TVC also features the Nippon Paint RCB blobby. Raghu Dixit further adds his magic to the TVC by composing the music, lending his voice, and featuring in the TVC. RCB and its players further add to the richness and unity of this wonderful state. RCB players including Captain Faf du Plessis, Mohammed Siraj and Harshal Patel feature in this TVC. The TVC will be presented on print, TV as well as digital platforms.

OPHTHALMOLOGY PIONEER DR. ROHIT SHETTY IN WORLD POWER LIST 2022

Bengaluru: DR. Rohit Shetty, cornea-refractive surgeon and a translational scientist, has been named as one of the top 100 most inspiring and influential ophthalmologists of the world by the respected and widely read ‘The Ophthalmologist’ magazine.

The Ophthalmologist Power List 2022 is a roll call of giants in clinical practice and vision research. The list is prepared from the mammoth lineup of 450 names by an international panel of 20 judges. “I am humbled and honored to be amongst the top brilliant minds in eye care” said Dr. Shetty , who is the Vice Chairman of Narayana Nethralaya. Dr. Shetty has been passionate about personalized eye care that is backed by Narayana Nethralaya’s research laboratory, state-of-the-art technology as well as artificial intelligence. “The biggest need in the field is to quickly adapt to the rapidly changing technology and therapeutics,” he said.

Dr. Shetty is in the company of stalwarts such as Pearse A. Keane (Consultant Ophthalmologist at Moorfields Eye Hospital and Professor of Artificial Medical Intelligence at University College London); Alan C. Bird (Emeritus Professor and Consultant at Institute of Ophthalmology, University College London, UK); Stephanie Watson (Professor & Head of Corneal Research Group at University of Sydney) and Caroline Klaver (Professor of Ophthalmology and Epidemiology, Erasmus Medical Center, Rotterdam, Netherlands).

The Vice Chairman of Narayana Nethralaya has been practicing high volume refractive surgery for over 20 years with a keen interest in keratoconus and ectatic corneal disorders. He is the Chief Mentor for the Dual Academic Program (Ph.D. & Clinical Fellowship) at Narayana Nethralaya Eye Institute, Bangalore, and Maastricht University.

Dr. Shetty’s work on pain management after photorefractive keratectomy, the influence of stromal molecular markers on corneal ectasia and risk scoring systems to predict ectasia after refractive surgery has been well received in the world of ophthalmology. He has over 300 peer-reviewed publications in national and international journals and is a reviewer for many indexed journals for this specialty. He is also on the editorial board of the Journal of Refractive Surgery. Dr. Shetty completed his residency in ophthalmology from the St. Johns Medical College for the Diplomate of the National Board. Dr. Shetty obtained his FRCS in Glasgow, Scotland, the United Kingdom in 2006 and is currently an FRCS examiner.

The Ophthalmologist Power List 2022 honour is one of the many recognitions conferred on Dr Shetty. In the All India Ophthalmological Society’s 2015 annual conference, Dr Shetty won the prestigious Col. Rangachari Award for the overall best paper of the conference for his work on “Is Inflammation Driving Keratoconus? A Holistic Study of Molecular Pathways”. The American Academy of Ophthalmology recently conferred an achievement award to Dr. Rohit Shetty for the distinguished services he has rendered over the years to the programs of the society. He has also been awarded the Casebeer Award for outstanding contribution to refractive surgery by the ISRS in the year 2019.

Agam is a Bangalore-based contemporary Carnatic progressive rock band. The band was formed in the year 2003. The current lineup consists of Harish Sivaramakrishnan (vocals), Swamy Seetharaman (keyboards and lyricist),  T Praveen Kumar (lead guitar), Aditya Kasyap (bass guitar and backing vocals) ,Sivakumar Nagarajan (ethnic percussions), Jagadish Natarajan (rhythm guitar) and Yadhunandan (Drummer). 

Agam received its big break in the year 2007 when it participated in a band hunt called “Ooh la la la”. hosted by the Tamil television channel Sun TV. The competition was judged by the Oscar-winning Indian music composer A.R. Rahman. Rahman was impressed by the band’s potential and adjudged them one of the winners of the contest. Their success in “Ooh la la la” brought them into the mainstream and they performed in concerts and music festivals in south indian cities like Bangalore…

Bangaluru 14.04.2022:- The Board of the Bharat Co.operative Bank Ltd., diseminating fiscal position of the Bank achieved during the financial year 2021-2022 making Gross Profit more than Rs.10 Crores. The Board contest the information published by some of News Papers listing the Bank under the caption “41 Urban Co.operative Banks reeling under losses” is far from the truth and the Bank is in sound financial position. There are no misuse or misappropriation of frauds, cheating in any manner as per recent audit conducted by cooperative department and inspection conducted by Reserve Bank of India.

It is clarified that the customers, depositors of the Bank need not be afraid of false information published by News Papers which shall not depicts the actual facts. Pravara Theatre and Ashvagosha Theatre Trust have jointly proposed to organise Bengaluru Short Play Festival 2022

Pravara Theatre and Ashvagosha Theatre Trust have jointly proposed to organise Bengaluru Short Play Festival 2022 to set up a platform to stage short impactful plays and bring in theatre fraternity together. The maiden edition of the Bengaluru Short Play Festival (BSPF 2021) was successfully held in March 2021 which saw huge success with hundreds of theatre artists participating in the festival and well received by the audience. They are all set for the second edition of Bengaluru Short Play Festival (BSPF 2022). The screening round for BSPF 2022 will be on 30th April and 1st May 2022 at Prabhath Kalapoornima, N.R.Colony, Bengaluru and finale will be on 15th of May 2022 at Prabhath K.H. Kalasoudha Hanumanthanagara, Bengaluru. Prabhath Auditoriums has joined BSPF 2022 as venue partners by providing the auditoriums for the festival. The ‘Best Actor’ award in BSPF 2022 will be presented in honor of National Award winner “Sanchari Vijay’ which will be continued in all the future editions of BSPF.

1. Best Play (Jury choice) – Trophy & Cash Prize. 2. Best Play (Audience choice) – Trophy & Cash Prize. 3. Best Director. 4. ‘Sanchari Vijay’ – Best Actor Male. 5. Best Actor Female. 6. Best Original Script. 7. Best Publicity Design.

Participation & Selection: 1. Theme for BSPF 2022 is – ‘ಸಹನೆ Sahane’. 2. Participating teams should construct a play in Kannada only based on the theme provided above. 3. The duration provided for each team will be 15 mins which includes stage setup. Play duration should be minimum of 10 mins. 4. A minimum of 2 actors and a maximum of 8 actors are allowed in each play. 5. Entries will be accepted till 27th April 2022. 6. Theatre teams and freelance artists can apply. 7. Any team across the state can participate in BSPF 2022, however for teams outside Bengaluru, screening will be done online. 8. Multiple entries are accepted from teams, however no artist/playwright/director can be part of more than one participating plays at BSPF. 9. Entry fee for each team is INR 1000 (Rupees one thousand). 10. Entry fee will be refunded to teams not making it to the finale and teams which get selected for finale will not receive the refund. 11. Screening will be held for all the participating teams on 30th of April and Ist of May 2022 at Prabhath Kalapoornima, NR Colony, Bengaluru. 12. Costumes and properties are not mandatory for screening.13. Only general lighting will be provided for screening and music can be used which should be handled by participating team. 14. Any team opting out after registration, entry fee will not be refunded. 15. 6-8 teams will be selected for BSPF 2022 finale. 16. Among the 6-8 teams selected for finale, if any team opts out under any circumstances next team in the screening score table will be provided opportunity to be part of finale. 17. Jury decision will be final. 18. Any team opting out after registration and before screening, entry fee shall not be refunded. 19. Jury panel will be different for screening and finale. 20. Festival directors and Technical director from BSPF team will have a discussion with director or representative of teams participating in the finale prior to the event. 21. Light design will be provided prior to finale. 22. Each team will be allotted time slot for technical run prior to finale and no change in the slot allotment is entertained. 23. Order of the performance for the finale event will be picked upon ties on 7th of May 2022 in presence of representatives from teams selected for finale. 24. Finale will be held on 15th of May 2022 at Prabhath KH Kalasoudha, Hanumanthanagara, Bengaluru.
