Unisys Cloud 20/20™ Contest Opens Registration for 12th Year

Student Innovation Program (SIP) and Targeted Innovation Program (TIP) challenge students to apply cutting-edge technology in designing solutions

BENGALURU and BLUE BELL, Pa., September 18, 2020 – Unisys Corporation (NYSE: UIS) today announced that registration is open for the 12th edition of Cloud 20/20™, the company’s annual flagship technical project competition for engineering students across India.

Established in 2009, the contest enables students to develop career-ready technical and soft skills by applying their theoretical knowledge in using innovative technologies to solve real problems.

The contest is open to research students, postgraduates, pre-final and final-year engineering students in computer science, information technology and other related streams. The contest comprises two primary programs:

  • The Student Innovation Program (SIP) challenges students to use emerging technologies for original and creative solutions to problems they have defined themselves.
  • The Targeted Innovation Program (TIP), introduced in 2019, tasks students with solving specific business problems that Unisys and its clients and industry partners submit.

“We are proud that for more than a decade Unisys has provided a strong and stable platform for college and university students to connect effectively with the IT industry,” said K Nageswara Rao, vice president, Unisys Asia Pacific Engineering, Products and Platforms. “The Cloud 20/20 competition not only serves as the stepping stone to the professional world for students, but also helps them establish connections with the business community and gives Unisys access to great ideas and technical thinking as well.”

Both the TIP and SIP programs offer students the opportunity to collaborate with their peers, faculty and Unisys mentors, who provide them with guidance and expertise in the run-up to the competition.

Cloud 20/20 has motivated students to work on innovative projects in cloud-based applications and microservices, cloud computing infrastructure, security and multimodal biometrics, among other advanced disciplines. With close to 50,000 individual member registrations since 2009, the event is one of India’s most anticipated technical contests for engineering students.

“The Cloud 20/20 contest keeps getting bigger and better every year,” said Sumed Marwaha, managing director, Unisys India and regional vice president, Services. “The 11-year record of innovation, superior learning quotient for students and participation by Unisys clients and partners and relevant industry bodies combine to make Cloud 20/20 a much-awaited event for both the industry and academia. We look forward to another successful edition of Cloud 20/20 – an event that truly celebrates the spirit of innovation and collaboration.”

The benefits of induction cooking

The benefits of induction cooking By:
Dinesh Garg, Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing, TTK Prestige.

Are you in the market for a new cooktop? If so, you are spoilt for choice, with a vast array of options. Today, there existsmultiple ways to cook food- be it a gas stove, electric hob or an induction cooktop. However, the induction cooking methodology is perhaps one of the most modern and exciting ways to prepare a variety of dishes to suit every single home cook.
It is said that the induction cooking has revolutionized the entire cooking process, with its safe, energy-efficient and power saving features. But before we get into the multitude of benefits that induction cooking provides, let us delve deep into what makes this option, different compared to the others. The induction cooking methodutilizes electromagnetic currents, which only heats the saucepan, leaving the rest of the area and cooktop cool. This process offers a plethora of benefits, which are listed below:
Energy efficient: Due to the fact that the heat is directly focused on the pan, there is less wastage of power. This makes induction cooking far more efficient than traditional methods.
Speed: No longer do you have to spend hours slaving over a hot stove every day. Induction cooking dramatically speeds up the cooking process as the heat is directly channelled to the pan. You have more control over the heat and food gets cooked a lot faster.
Safety: Induction cooktops don’t emit gas in the air. Best of all, dishcloths don’t catch fire because it only heats items with iron particles in it. There is also no fear of accidently leaving the cooktop on, as the heat is removed once the saucepan or pot is removed from the cooktop.
Easy to clean: For home cooks, this is perhaps the best feature, as it involves very little cleaning time. Because only the pan gets hot, any spillage on the surface of the induction cooktop can be immediately wiped with a cloth after cooking and there is zero chance of it getting crusty and embedded into the cooktop. With one quick wipe, any bit of food can be removed, without having to scrub or use any cleaning products.
Cool environment: Kitchens have the tendency to become very hot. However, the induction cooktop tends to create a much cooler environment as energy doesn’t escape into the air and is reserved solely to heat up the pan directly.

Since the induction cooktop does not require gas, there is no hassle of having to keep track of when your gas cylinder is going to get over or order new ones. Induction cooktops are designed to take away the hassle of cooking and leave you with a lot more leisure time. The trick is in cooking smart – which is what you will be able to do with an induction cook-top.

Now students up to 5th will be taught in mother tongue, local language and national language only. The rest of the subjects, even if they are English, will be taught as a subject.

— Now students will not have to do MPhil. Rather MA students will now be able to do PHD directly.

Students will be able to do other courses in between. Gross enrollment ratio will be 50 percent by 2035 in higher education. At the same time, under the new education policy, if a student wants to do another course in the middle of a course, then he can take a second course by taking a break for a limited time from the first course.

Many reforms have also been made in higher education. Improvements include graded academic, administrative and financial autonomy etc. Apart from this, e-courses will be started in regional languages. Virtual Labs will be developed. A National Educational Scientific Forum (NETF) will be started. There are 45 thousand colleges in the country.

Uniform rules will be for all government, private, deemed institutions.
According to this rule, new academic session can be started and all students and parents need to carefully read this message.
