Bengaluru: The grand Rathotsava of Sri Guru Raghavendra Swamy was held with great religious fervour and enthusiasm along the main streets of Jayanagar 5th Block on the occasion of the Uttaradhana celebrations.
The Rathotsava was organised at the Nanjangud Sri Guru Raghavendra Swamy Mutt in Jayanagar 5th Block, Bengaluru, under the direction of Parama Pujya Sri 1008 Sri Subudhendra Teertha Sripadangalavaru and the leadership of the Mutt’s senior administrator, R.K. Vadindra Acharya.
The grand procession commenced at around 9 a.m. from the Rayara Mutt and proceeded through the main streets of Jayanagar 5th Block. The ceremonial worship marking the inauguration of the Rathotsava was performed by Smt. Sudha Narayana Murthy and C.K. Ramamurthy, who sought the blessings of Sri Raghavendra Swamy.
Speaking on the occasion, Sri Nandakishore Acharya said the Rathotsava was conducted in a grand manner as part of the Uttaradhana celebrations and witnessed the participation of devotees from different age groups.
The procession featured several traditional cultural performances, including Kerala’s Chenda melam, Udupi’s traditional doll dance, Nashik band performances, Kabbalamma and Ramanagara Dollu Kunitha. Fireworks added to the festive atmosphere, drawing large crowds along the route.
Children, youngsters, senior citizens and devotees from across the locality participated enthusiastically in the celebrations. The streets of Jayanagar reverberated with devotional chants and traditional music as devotees gathered to witness the magnificent chariot procession and seek the blessings of Sri Raghavendra Swamy.
