A Taste of Tradition: MTR Revives ‘Karunadu Swada 2026’ with Culinary and Cultural Grandeur

Bengaluru: Marking a celebration of Karnataka’s rich culinary legacy, MTR has brought back its flagship cultural and food festival, Karunadu Swada 2026, with a vibrant inauguration at Jayamahal Palace on April 24. The event was formally opened by Maheshwar Rao M, Chief Commissioner, GBA and Administrator of all Bengaluru city corporations.

Blending food, tradition and storytelling, this year’s edition revolves around the theme ‘the story before the recipe’, placing a spotlight on indigenous ingredients and the narratives behind them. The opening evening offered a curated culinary journey across six distinct regions of Karnataka-Uttara Karnataka, Kalyana Karnataka, Kodagu, Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Hale Mysuru-featuring over 75 dishes that ranged from timeless favourites to rare, nearly forgotten recipes.

Conceptualised by MTR’s culinary team in collaboration with home cooks, the festival underscores the importance of hyper-local and seasonal produce. A unique framework-“One Region. One Unique Ingredient. One Forgotten Recipe”-anchors the experience, with each region also presenting a traditional summer beverage rooted in local climate wisdom.

Adding depth to the celebration, MTR unveiled the second edition of its coffee table book, “The Story Before the Recipe,” which documents the ingredients and culinary traditions that define Karnataka’s diverse food landscape.

The evening also saw a cultural highlight with musician Vasu Dixit unveiling a specially composed ‘Sambar Song’. Performed live, the piece paid tribute to the iconic dish, capturing its emotional resonance and everyday significance in South Indian households.

Speaking at the event, MTR CEO Sunay Bhasin noted that the festival continues to strengthen the brand’s longstanding commitment to preserving regional food traditions while introducing them to newer audiences.

Beyond gastronomy, the festival features a rich cultural programme, including folk and classical performances, offering visitors an immersive glimpse into Karnataka’s artistic heritage.
With an expected footfall of over 3,000 visitors across two days, Karunadu Swada 2026 reinforces its place as one of Bengaluru’s most anticipated celebrations of food and culture.

ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು: ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೋಗ ವೃತ್ತಿಪರರ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣ, ಮಾನ್ಯತೆ ಮತ್ತು ವೃತ್ತಿ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತೇಜನ ನೀಡುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ ‘ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಯೋಗ ಮಾಸ್ಟರ್ಸ್ ವೆಲ್ಫೇರ್ ಅಸೋಸಿಯೇಶನ್ (ರಿ)’ ಸ್ಥಾಪನೆಗೊಂಡಿದೆ.

ಡಾ. ಐ. ಶಶಿಕಾಂತ್ ಜೈನ್, ಅವಿನಾಶ್ ಕೆ.ಎಂ ಮತ್ತು ಡಿ. ಗಣೇಶ್ ಅವರ ಮುಂದಾಳತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಸಂಘವನ್ನು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸಮಾಜಗಳ ನೋಂದಣಿ ಕಾಯ್ದೆ, 1960ರಡಿ ನೋಂದಾಯಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ರಾಜ್ಯದ ವಿವಿಧ ಭಾಗಗಳ ಯೋಗ ಮಾಸ್ಟರ್‌ಗಳು, ತರಬೇತುದಾರರು ಹಾಗೂ ವೆಲ್‌ನೆಸ್ ವೃತ್ತಿಪರರನ್ನು ಒಂದೇ ವೇದಿಕೆಗೆ ತರಲು ಸಂಘ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಅವರ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳಿಗೆ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಿತ ಪರಿಹಾರ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸುವ ಗುರಿ ಹೊಂದಿದೆ.

ಯೋಗ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿಸ್ತು ಮತ್ತು ಸುರಕ್ಷತೆಯ ವಿಚಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಘ ಕಟ್ಟುನಿಟ್ಟಿನ ನಿಲುವು ತಾಳಿದೆ. ಅನಾಚಾರ ಅಥವಾ ಮಹಿಳಾ ಸುರಕ್ಷತೆ ಉಲ್ಲಂಘನೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತೊಡಗಿರುವವರ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಅಮಾನತು ಅಥವಾ ಶಾಶ್ವತ ನಿಷೇಧ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಕಠಿಣ ಕ್ರಮ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳುವುದಾಗಿ ಘೋಷಿಸಿದೆ. ಇದರಿಂದ ಯೋಗ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ನೈತಿಕತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಭದ್ರತೆಯನ್ನು ಬಲಪಡಿಸುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶ ಹೊಂದಿದೆ.

ಇದೇ ವೇದಿಕೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಪ್ರಮಾಣಪತ್ರ ಮಾನದಂಡಗಳು, ಉದ್ಯೋಗಾವಕಾಶಗಳು, ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಭದ್ರತೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯಗಳ ಲಭ್ಯತೆ ಕುರಿತು ಚರ್ಚೆಗಳು ನಡೆಯಲಿವೆ. ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಯೋಗ ಮಾಸ್ಟರ್‌ಗಳು ಈ ಸಂಘಟನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಿ ಸಮುದಾಯವನ್ನು ಬಲಪಡಿಸಲು ಸಂಘ ಆಹ್ವಾನಿಸಿದೆ.

AESL Karnataka students excel in JEE Main 2026; Adarsh Kumar Behera secures AIR 43

Bengaluru, April 2026: Students of Aakash Educational Services Limited (AESL) in Karnataka have recorded a strong performance in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026, underlining consistent academic preparation and disciplined study practices across centres.

Adarsh Kumar Behera emerged as the State’s top performer from AESL, securing All India Rank (AIR) 43 and Karnataka State Rank 2. He also achieved a perfect 100 percentile in Mathematics and Chemistry, reflecting a high level of subject proficiency.

In Session 2 of JEE Main 2026, several other AESL students from Karnataka featured among the top ranks nationally. Pranil Singla (AIR 211), Ayush S. Kolekar (AIR 276), and Naman Agarwal (AIR 785) were among those who secured positions within the top 1,000.

A wider pool of students, including Aditya, T.R.S. Sanjeet, Johann Job, Gudala Satya Yashaswi, and Prachet Jalashankar M., also delivered notable performances, indicating a broad base of academic strength across the State.

According to results released by the National Testing Agency on April 20, around 15 students from AESL centres in Karnataka performed well in Session 2, with several qualifying for the next stage, JEE Advanced.

Dheeraj Kumar Misra, Chief Academic and Business Head at AESL, said the results reflected the students’ sustained effort and the effectiveness of structured academic programmes. He noted that consistent practice, mentoring, and periodic assessments played a key role in helping students identify learning gaps and improve performance over time.

Students attributed their success to rigorous training, regular mock tests, and guidance from faculty, which helped strengthen conceptual clarity and exam readiness.

JEE Main, conducted by the National Testing Agency, is a gateway for admission to premier institutions such as the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other centrally funded technical institutions. It also serves as the qualifying examination for JEE Advanced, required for entry into the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
