ŠKODA AUTO India bets on 2022 to be the ‘Biggest Year’in its India operations

 Continued product offensive through 2022 with 6 launches

Mumbai, January 6th, 2022: The year 2022 is slated to be the biggest year for ŠKODA AUTO India ever since its entry into the Indian market in 2001. With a focused market strategy built around its consistent product launch campaigns, focus on enhancing the after sales and customer satisfaction drivers and increasing its network presence across the country, ŠKODA AUTO India plans to triple its annual sales volumes in 2022 and further build on the positive momentum created last year.

From 10,387 cars sold in 2020, ŠKODA AUTO India achieved a triple digit growth of 130% with 23,858 units sold in 2021. For 2022, ŠKODA AUTO India aims to triple the 2021 sales volumes, keeping the mid-term target of 1,00,000 units set for 2025. The growth in 2021 and the projection for 2022 is based on the successful implementation of the first leg of the India 2.0 project. A project that involved the development of the MQB A0 IN platform made specifically for India, that formed the base for the launch of the KUSHAQ.

With the start of the new year, ŠKODA AUTO India will be launching the new KODIAQ on January 10, the first of the 6 product actions planned for 2022. Continuing the charge will be the all-new SLAVIA sedan. Built on the same MQB A0 IN platform as the KUSHAQ, the SLAVIA will be the torchbearer of ŠKODA AUTO India’s 2022 calendar, alongside KUSHAQ. Providing further impetus to the product blitz will be enhancements across the product line-up, which include updates to the KUSHAQ, OCTAVIA and SUPERB.

New focus areas on the sales front:

In order to gear up for the aggressive sales volumes for 2022, the brand will build on new and existing avenues like its ‘Certified Pre-Owned’ brand, ‘Corporate Sales’ initiatives, increase penetration in rural markets and also continued focus on dealer manpower training, which is essential the business operations.

The plan is to activate the ‘Certified Pre-Owned’ brand across all outlets in 2022. There is already a high level of digitalization in the business process, and the 115 points vehicle evaluation is done by using the mobile app. On the ‘Corporate Sales’ front, the brand has already facilitated tie-ups with banks & financial institutes, and has recorded a 127% growth in 2021 over 2020. The objective is to further increase the corporate sales penetration to around 30% in 2022.

The brand is seeing a surge in the contribution from rural markets. From around 5% in 2020, the share of sales from rural markets grew to around 10% in 2021. With the rapid network expansion across the country, there will be further contribution from the rural markets in 2022.

All the actions on the sales front will mean that the brand will be amongst the top 10 markets for ŠKODA AUTO a.s. and also will be in the top 10 OEMs in India, which will be a tremendous feat.

Building on the Network Expansion:

One of the key pillars of the India 2.0 project was to substantially increase the network presence across the country. With over 175 touchpoints in 2021 the brand has already increased its presence by almost 50%. 2022 will see further actions on this front with the objective of growing from 175 to 225 touchpoints, which results in growth of more than 25%.

The increase in the service footprint will be an architect of this growth. The newly introduced Compact Workshop, which makes aftersales facilities accessible in all rural areas having a sales branch, will enable the brand to cater to more than 60 rural cities in India in 2022.

Enhancing the After-sales and Customer Centric actions:

One of the key areas of focus for the brand has been to keep building on its promise of customer satisfaction. On the after-sales front, the brand has already taken several measure towards enriching the customer experience with reduced cost of ownership. These include a 32% reduction in engine oil prices (gasoline engines) and up to 21% lower overall maintenance costs. The brand has also taken initiatives to have greater transparency with the service cost calculator, available on the website. In 2022, there will be efforts in increasing the trained skill force and improving service quality, introducing new aftersales programs (loyalty offerings) and building customer confidence through greater transparency. Initiatives like the Service Cam, mobile service vans and express service offerings will all help in augmenting the customer experience.

Also fuelling the growth are ŠKODA AUTO India’s customer innovations and campaigns. Like the introduction of an Artificial Intelligence ChatBot on the ŠKODA AUTO India website, WhatsApp and Facebook pages. It is AI that enhances the information and interactivity levels across platforms that people browse through in the car purchase decision. Besides, a slew of customer-centric initiatives like the ‘Peace of Mind’ campaign enabling lower cost of ownership, reduction in parts prices, accessibility of service centres and the digitalisation of the service process enveloped ŠKODA AUTO India’s customer activities.

Going into 2022, ŠKODA AUTO India aims to achieve a leadership position in customer centricity by its continuous implementation of trainings and programs across all customer touchpoints.

Humble Politician Nograj is filled with unexpected twists and turns as the corrupt and chauvinistic Nograj sets out on a journey from being an MLA to vying for the most prestigious post in Karnataka – that of the Chief Minister. Ace comedian Danish Sait will be seen as Nograj, a conceited and self-serving civil servant. The funny political potboiler will also star Prakash Belawadi, Vinay Chendoor and Disha Madan in pivotal roles.

To promote the series, Voot Select announced the series in a never seen before avatar, Danish Saad made a grand entry in a jeep with the audience rallying and campaigning for him, just like what we see during political rallies. As the theme of the show suggests, Danish was seen in his character Nograj unveiling his own statue and distributing sweets along with director Saad Khan. The gimmick did catch a lot of eyeballs in the media as well as the audience, turning out to be a huge success.

Do you want to donate your eyes? Just give a missed call toDr Rajkumar Eye Bank of Narayana Nethralaya

Bengaluru: Through its Dr Rajkumar Eye Bank, Narayana Nethralaya has been able to create awareness about the importance of eye donation since 1994. Now it has launched an exclusive number – 8884018800 – through which those who wish to pledge their eyes as a donation can register their names.

This exclusive number has been set up by the Dr Rajkumar Eye Bank of Narayana Nethralaya. Pledging eyes means making a formal and voluntary commitment to donate eyes after your demise. Those who wish to pledge their eyes as a donation have to give a missed call to 8884018800. The eye bank will send a link to a form that has to be filled out to complete the formality of pledging. Once the form is filled out and submitted, the intended donor will immediately get an “eye pledge certificate’ and further instructions for eventual eye donation.

The exclusive number was formally launched on Wednesday by film star Raghavendra Rajkumar , who lost his younger brother, popular star Puneeth Rajkumar, two months ago. Puneet Rajkumar’s eyes gave sight to four people, thanks to a new technology adopted by Narayana Nethralaya.

Raghavendra Rajkumar announced the launch of the exclusive number at the Samadhi of Puneet Rajkumar, where he along with some of his family members had come to pay his respects and perform rituals to mark the punyatithi.

Addressing the media here, Raghavendra Rajkumar said the many including him realised the kind of social service done by Puneeth only after his demise. “Today Puneeth is more seen as a role model by the people than an actor. My father used to often tell us – Vaidyo Narayano Harihi , which means that a doctor should be seen as a form of Lord Narayana. I believe in this. I am grateful to Narayana Nethralaya, and in particular Dr Bhujang Shetty for creating so much awareness among the people to donate eyes,” he said.

Dr Bhujang Shetty, Chairman and MD, Narayana Nethralaya said the hospital’s eye bank has witnessed a huge swell in eye donation pledges. So far more nearly 12,000 people have pledged their eyes. “I am expecting at least seven lakh people soon to pledge their eyes with the missed phone call facility we have launched today,” he said.

Dr Shetty said that ever since Puneet Rajkumar’s eye donation, the number of people volunteering to pledge their eyes has surged dramatically. The generosity of the actor has inspired people, he pointed out. For the last 25 odd years, Narayana Nethralaya has been running an eye donation pledge programme.
 
Dr Shetty observed that offline pledging is a cumbersome process. Many people may have good intentions but don’t know how or where to pledge their eyes. The helpline would encourage more people to donate, he added. Dr Shetty also said the number of eye donation pledges in November 2021 was 10,000. This is a record of sorts in Karnataka, he pointed out. Now it has touched 12,000.

In November 2021, 234 eyes were collected from the donors and up to December 27th the number collected had been 209. This month, so far more than 2,000 people have already pledged their eyes. Previously, in a month, the eye bank would only get anywhere between 100 to 200 pledges.

Today The Bangalore Wholesale Cloth Merchants Association President Sri.Prakash Pirgal and Treasurer Sri Manek Gadiya met Shri. Basavaraj Bommai,
Chief Minister of Karnataka and Member of the GST Council,
Regarding the drastic increase of GST on Textiles.

The meeting was regarding the sudden announcement of GST from 5% to 12% which was not in good taste for the textile industry as well as the common man. It came as a shocker as “Roti Kapada Makan” being the essential for a livelihood of a person.

Shri. Basavaraj Bommai assured to raise this matter in the next GST council meeting.
