Bengaluru:C. Shanth Kumari has expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Karnataka Chief Minister Shri D.K. Shivakumar, Rajya Sabha Member and KPCC Working President Shri G.C. Chandrashekar, Shri H.M. Bengaluru, September 1, 2026: In a significant verdict, the Hon’ble Court has sentenced all eight accused in a murder case registered at Ashok Nagar Police Station to life imprisonment and imposed a total fine of ₹3.90 lakh.
The incident occurred on October 1, 2017, during the Vijayadashami celebrations. A religious palanquin procession was being held at B Street in Shanthinagar, within the limits of Ashok Nagar Police Station, when Harish was allegedly attacked by a group comprising eight accused and three juveniles in conflict with law.
According to the prosecution, the accused attacked Harish with longs, knives and other deadly weapons before allegedly crushing his head with a stone. Harish succumbed to his injuries. Following the incident, Ashok Nagar Police registered a murder case and launched an investigation.
During the investigation, police arrested all eight adult accused, while the three juveniles were produced before the Juvenile Justice Board as per law.
The initial investigation was carried out by Vijay Hadagali, then Police Inspector of Ashok Nagar Police Station and currently an Assistant Commissioner of Police. Subsequently, S.D. Shashidhar, Police Inspector, took over the investigation, completed the probe and filed the charge sheet against the eight accused before the Hon’ble Court.
During the trial, the Senior Assistant Public Prosecutor presented the prosecution’s case and examined the witnesses and other evidence. After considering the evidence on record, the Hon’ble Judge found all eight accused guilty.
On August 17, 2026, the court sentenced all eight to life imprisonment and imposed a cumulative fine of ₹3,90,000. The court also directed that the fine amount be paid to the mother, wife and son of the deceased Harish.
Bengaluru City Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh, IPS; Central Division Deputy Commissioner of Police Akshay M. Hakay, IPS; and Cubbon Park Sub-Division Assistant Commissioner of Police Priyadarshini Eshwar Sanikoppa appreciated the investigation team and the Assistant Public Prosecutor for their efforts in securing the conviction.
Bengaluru, September 1, 2026: The Organised Crime Wing of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) has arrested a 32-year-old rowdy-sheeter, Syed Adnan, who had been absconding and evading court proceedings in 13 criminal cases registered against him in Bengaluru.
The accused, Adnan alias Syed Adnan, was active in and around the K.G. Halli and D.J. Halli police station limits of Bengaluru City East Division and was also involved in criminal activities in other parts of the city. Police said that a total of 20 cases have been registered against him at various police stations across Bengaluru.
Adnan had failed to appear before the court in 13 of these cases, following which the Hon’ble Court had issued warrants against him.
According to the CCB, the accused had been staying in Mumbai after securing bail and was evading arrest. Acting on credible information that he was returning to Bengaluru, the Organised Crime Wing (East) launched a special operation and apprehended him on August 31, 2026.
During the arrest, police seized one long machete and one dagger from his possession. The accused was produced before the Hon’ble Court on the same day.
The operation was conducted under the guidance of Ajay Hilori, IPS, Additional Commissioner of Police, Crime, and Srinivas Gowda, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Crime-1. The operation was led by Anand C.S., Assistant Commissioner of Police, Organised Crime Wing (East), CCB, along with officers and personnel of the East Wing.

ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು, ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 1, 2026: ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಭಾರತದ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ವೈವಿಧ್ಯಮಯ ರಿಯಲ್ ಎಸ್ಟೇಟ್ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದಾಗಿರುವ ಸುಮಧುರ ಗ್ರೂಪ್, ಚೆನ್ನೈನಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನ ಮೊದಲ ಗ್ರೇಡ್-ಎ ಕೈಗಾರಿಕಾ ಮತ್ತು ಲಾಜಿಸ್ಟಿಕ್ಸ್ ಪಾರ್ಕ್ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಪಡಿಸಲು ಮುಂದಾಗಿದೆ. ಉತ್ತರ ಚೆನ್ನೈನ ರೆಡ್ ಹಿಲ್ಸ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ, ಚೆನ್ನೈ ಪೆರಿಫೆರಲ್ ರಿಂಗ್ ರೋಡ್ (CPRR) ಸಮೀಪ ಈ ಯೋಜನೆ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣವಾಗಲಿದ್ದು, ಸುಮಾರು ₹400 ಕೋಟಿ ಹೂಡಿಕೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ.
52 ಎಕರೆ ವಿಸ್ತೀರ್ಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯಾಗಲಿರುವ ಈ ಯೋಜನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಮಾರು 12 ಲಕ್ಷ ಚದರ ಅಡಿ ಗ್ರೇಡ್-ಎ ಗೋದಾಮು ಸೌಲಭ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶ ಹೊಂದಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಯೋಜನೆಯಿಂದ ಸುಮಾರು 2,500 ನೇರ ಹಾಗೂ ಪರೋಕ್ಷ ಉದ್ಯೋಗಾವಕಾಶಗಳು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಯಾಗುವ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಿದ್ದು, ಕಾಮಗಾರಿಯನ್ನು 2028ರ ಡಿಸೆಂಬರ್ ವೇಳೆಗೆ ಪೂರ್ಣಗೊಳಿಸುವ ಗುರಿ ಹೊಂದಲಾಗಿದೆ.
ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಹೊಸಕೋಟೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಮಧುರ ಗ್ರೂಪ್ ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಪಡಿಸಿರುವ ಲಾಜಿಸ್ಟಿಕ್ಸ್ ಪಾರ್ಕ್‌ನ ಗ್ರೇಡ್-ಎ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟದ ಮಾನದಂಡಗಳನ್ನು ಆಧರಿಸಿ ಚೆನ್ನೈ ಯೋಜನೆಯನ್ನು ರೂಪಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಆಧುನಿಕ ಮೂಲಸೌಕರ್ಯ, ಉನ್ನತ ಮಟ್ಟದ ಸುರಕ್ಷತಾ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ, ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ವ್ಯವಹಾರ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಪರಿಸರ ಸ್ನೇಹಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸುಸ್ಥಿರ ವಿನ್ಯಾಸಕ್ಕೆ ಯೋಜನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆದ್ಯತೆ ನೀಡಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ.

ರೆಡ್ ಹಿಲ್ಸ್ ಪ್ರದೇಶವು ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಕೈಗಾರಿಕಾ ಮತ್ತು ಗೋದಾಮು ವಲಯಗಳಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತಮ ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ಹೊಂದಿದೆ. ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿಗಳು, ಚೆನ್ನೈ ಅಂತರರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ವಿಮಾನ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣ, ಕೇಂದ್ರ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆ (CBD) ಹಾಗೂ ಪ್ರಾದೇಶಿಕ ಮಾರುಕಟ್ಟೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಸುಗಮ ಸಂಪರ್ಕದ ಜತೆಗೆ ಎನ್ನೋರ್, ಕಾಟುಪಳ್ಳಿ ಮತ್ತು ಚೆನ್ನೈ ಬಂದರುಗಳಿಗೂ ಸಮೀಪದಲ್ಲಿರುವುದು ಯೋಜನೆಯ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಅನುಕೂಲವಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದರಿಂದ ದೇಶೀಯ ಸರಕು ಸಾಗಣೆ ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲದೆ ರಫ್ತು ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳಿಗೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ವೇಗ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ದೊರೆಯಲಿದೆ.

2026ರ ಮೊದಲಾರ್ಧದಲ್ಲಿ ಚೆನ್ನೈನಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಮಾರು 41 ಲಕ್ಷ ಚದರ ಅಡಿ ಗ್ರೇಡ್-ಎ ಕೈಗಾರಿಕಾ ಮತ್ತು ವೇರ್‌ಹೌಸಿಂಗ್ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಬೇಡಿಕೆ ದಾಖಲಾಗಿದೆ. ದೇಶದ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಎಂಟು ನಗರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇದು ಎರಡನೇ ಅತಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಪ್ರಮಾಣವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಕಳೆದ ವರ್ಷದ ಇದೇ ಅವಧಿಗೆ ಹೋಲಿಸಿದರೆ ಚೆನ್ನೈನಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇಡಿಕೆ ಶೇ.11ರಷ್ಟು ಏರಿಕೆಯಾಗಿದೆ.
ಚೆನ್ನೈ ಯೋಜನೆ ಪೂರ್ಣಗೊಂಡ ಬಳಿಕ ಸುಮಧುರ ಗ್ರೂಪ್‌ನ ಒಟ್ಟು ವೇರ್‌ಹೌಸಿಂಗ್ ಭೂಮಿ ಪೋರ್ಟ್‌ಫೋಲಿಯೊ 150 ಎಕರೆಗೂ ಅಧಿಕವಾಗಲಿದೆ. ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೈಗಾರಿಕಾ ಮತ್ತು ಲಾಜಿಸ್ಟಿಕ್ಸ್ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ವಿಸ್ತರಣೆಯನ್ನು ಇದು ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಬಲಪಡಿಸುವ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಿದೆ.

Bengaluru: The grand Rathotsava of Sri Guru Raghavendra Swamy was held with great religious fervour and enthusiasm along the main streets of Jayanagar 5th Block on the occasion of the Uttaradhana celebrations.
The Rathotsava was organised at the Nanjangud Sri Guru Raghavendra Swamy Mutt in Jayanagar 5th Block, Bengaluru, under the direction of Parama Pujya Sri 1008 Sri Subudhendra Teertha Sripadangalavaru and the leadership of the Mutt’s senior administrator, R.K. Vadindra Acharya.
The grand procession commenced at around 9 a.m. from the Rayara Mutt and proceeded through the main streets of Jayanagar 5th Block. The ceremonial worship marking the inauguration of the Rathotsava was performed by Smt. Sudha Narayana Murthy and C.K. Ramamurthy, who sought the blessings of Sri Raghavendra Swamy.
Speaking on the occasion, Sri Nandakishore Acharya said the Rathotsava was conducted in a grand manner as part of the Uttaradhana celebrations and witnessed the participation of devotees from different age groups.
The procession featured several traditional cultural performances, including Kerala’s Chenda melam, Udupi’s traditional doll dance, Nashik band performances, Kabbalamma and Ramanagara Dollu Kunitha. Fireworks added to the festive atmosphere, drawing large crowds along the route.
Children, youngsters, senior citizens and devotees from across the locality participated enthusiastically in the celebrations. The streets of Jayanagar reverberated with devotional chants and traditional music as devotees gathered to witness the magnificent chariot procession and seek the blessings of Sri Raghavendra Swamy.
